i say this all the time and i know people think i’m joking but i hate instagram. for a lot of reasons but specifically for what it’s done to beauty standards. if i grew up with instagram i know for a fact i would’ve been worse off so it makes me feel weird and bad to know a bunch of young girls are growing up having things like flat tummy tea and facetune thrown in their faces 24/7

also for a lot of people especially in their 20s it can be hard to be on Instagram and constantly be shown all of the achievements people your age are doing when people are always so eager to post pictures of where they get to travel, the house or car they just bought, etc. especially if you’re already stressed about having to accomplish things it just feels like you’re being taunted all the time like you’re not achieving enough. or maybe that’s just me
