Sometimes I remember a Quora I read which was adamant that Elizabeth I would have lost her throne if she had become pregnant, even blithely batting away the idea that she could have married because of what happened to MQS (which I don’t think is a good comparison, their situations were so different, also they seemed to forget about Mary I’s marriage too) and I’m filled with despair for amateur historical analysis

I’m just gonna say it…people are adamant about a lot of things on Quora on the Tudor history questions, and most of them are wrong.

What’s actually annoying is that the answers that are balanced and provide facts and citations rather than just a lot of assumptions are usually not the most upvoted. The answers with the most upvotes are always like 12+ paragraphs but they’re … wrong.
