i mean; we can also see by the failure to install jane grey as queen that the English people were not really hot-to-trot about heirs to the throne less direct than henry viii’s own issue; that were derived from the issue of one of his sisters….it’s neither here nor there because divine right and dynastic inheritance is all fake news anyway, but tl;dr also just because someone is a tragic figure doesn’t mean they would’ve made a better ruler.
