i don’t really like the term ‘abandoned’ for a fic that hasn’t been updated in a while. it’s nitpicky, probably, as i think that’s the official term (or ‘orphaned’ for officially abandoned, which also…wow) but idk, i’ve just always kind of felt like that’s rather loaded language?

like, it’s a fic, not a child…the writer is under no obligation to update it. to me that wording seems to imply that they are, so i just prefer ‘unfinished’ or a fic that is ‘on hiatus’.
