@ the last anon, sorry if that came across a bit sharp, but there was some uhhhh….vaguing/shading about people using MCK actors for anne fancasts a while ago and like. incheresting to me how when people used lighter-skinned actors from mck, such as:

no one said boo but ppl suddenly started getting MAD-pressed when historyedit-makers used darker-skinned actors from MCK for fancasts…it kind of made me lol because a) do you actually know what she looked like; and b) even if she looked…how you think she looked… you shouldn’t have … a problem with it.

how dark do you think anne boleyns complexion was?

lmao is this because of that emoji

💅🏼

…..it looks lighter on my phone tbh, it’s like the second one after the super-pale one.

Madame Anne is not one of the handsomest women in the world; she is of middling stature, swarthy complexion, long neck, wide mouth, bosom not much raised, and in fact has nothing but the English King’s great appetite, and her eyes, which are black and beautiful, and take great effect on those who served the Queen when she was on the throne.

sooo like…idk if she was ‘middling’ or shorter than that; tbh i think that judgement depends on how tall the ambassador in question was lmao, but he’d have no …reason to lie about her complexion so i believe it was what we’d term as ‘olive-toned’ today, maybe similar to this:

she went hunting and hawking, and enjoyed archery and horseback-riding, frequently and they’re not wearing like those giant hats ladies wear at sunday services back then so like…i’d say she probably had a suntan.
