i like, y’know, history, i like drama, i like high stakes and costumes and panache but like………i don’t like sexist writing, and i don’t like stereotypes, so i have a period drama void; and we try to fill it with fic but there’s just not enough of it!!

Les Jardins de Diane, Fontainebleau (France)The gardens and the castle were empty. I managed to shut off my mind for few hours and simply enjoy myself in the moment, I need to spend more often such quality time.
my birthday makes me so anxious there’s too much pressure to have a good day and for other people to think you’re having a good day but its always just a day and i feel like im doing something wrong
God made me as a filler episode of the series
Polina by Olga Barantseva
not living in a city sucks and THAT’S the tea.

i’ve run out of things to watch…tragic.
do people actually know what “romanticize” means or do they just like using the word to complain about things they don’t want to see?
the year was 2016, i posted two screencaps from a documentary that was literally just a depiction of henry viii and anne boleyn looking at each other (looking! nothing else) like so:

and i got the reply of “why are they romanticizing this????????’
so… definitions of ‘romanticize’:
to represent or think of as better than reality would warrant
Deal with or describe in an idealized or unrealistic fashion; make (something) seem better or more appealing than it really is.
and, again…they’re literally just looking at each other.
unless this person’s impression was that these two never looked at each other, a scene of them looking at each other is not a “romanticization”.
