In the story Henry VII wanted a marriage between Anne of Navarre and Prince Henry, but Catherine of Navarre wrote back suggesting a marriage between Henry and herself, and H7 agreed. The oddity of marrying the mother instead of the daughter when she was so much older is mentioned in the story. (The fact that Henry wedded and bedded someone while only 13 is mentioned by both commentors and author as icky, so it’s not completely brushed under the rug)

Hmm…I don’t think that would be my thing then, anon. Thanks anyway for the suggestion!

compliment: i love your tudorsedits! and how dedicated you are to pointing out accuracies/inaccuracies with the show; i just looked through your ‘30 days of’ tag and agree with most of it! it makes me want to attempt it at some point, haha…

also it’s nice to talk to someone that understands henry viii in context. all the hate about him on here (although i understand some of it to a certain extent) gets like…boring imo.

criticism:

I love Historical Dramas and am a person that knows more about them and the history behind them than she should” is me (well, just with Tudors mainly) but I can’t write it for my bio or that what would be copying…boo 😂

Congratulations on getting into university!! Were you able to mention/allude to fic writing/history blogging anywhere on your application, if you were asked about why you chose history as your major?

Thank you!

No I didn’t, and honestly (altho it’s not like I’m an academic and/or admissions advisor, or anything) I wouldn’t reccomend it? There is still a lot of stigma about fanfiction and blogging; if your blog is only academically/journalistically centered (no personal posts) and you’re only posting original content then maybe…but if you are your blog is probably on a platform liked blogspot or WordPress or you have your own URL anyway.

I was asked about what I wanted to pursue academically and so I did talk about why I chose history as my major and why I was passionate about it. 💗
