just smth abt the tone of the show that you can tell the majority of the writing staff is composed of women, and also that a woman is the creator. and i’m going to miss it a lot when the series is over 😭
also as far as general cohesiveness; given that it’s gotten to four seasons, i think it’s surpassesd crazy ex girlfriend.
i’m kind of so surprised that this is even a cw show because i think of like gossip girl etc. and this is so far from that…
also while we have a lot of female narrators/main characters that are writers in tv; they tend to be journalists only (gilmore girls etc.). so it’s kind of nice to see one that is a romance novel author; because that’s a genre and profession that is made fun of so often (the fulfillment of women’s romantic fantasies generally…are and it’s an extension of that). and it’s usually a side character or smth of a punchline but like no, she’s the star.
