i know it’s not always obvious whether someone tagged a post if it’s been reblogged a bunch but frankly i think it’s common courtesy to click on op and check? i know yada yada all tumblr posts are public but i do think it’s rude/bad online etiquette to respond to a short, uncapitalized, untagged post with lengthy disagreeing meta, even if you’re not personally attacking the op
it’s bringing a different level of discussion that was invited and i feel it carries the assumption that people aren’t bringing correct intellectual rigor to their casual posts
rest assured if youre trying to play the cool guy and make like “jokingly” rude comments on strangers posts for Funney Aloof Joke Points theyre just showing your comment to their friends and being like hey whats this dudes problem lol
