harlots s2 predictions after watching the first two episodes:

• judge incel has Big Crush on amelia (he seemed to listen to her more than anyone else…and idk i just got that vibe), is probably going to very awkwardly try to flirt with her and she’s going to have to be like ‘no hetero’ (but in the subtlest way one can without being condemned for it in georgian england)
• building off/adjacent to that, there was a Lot in the scene where she tries to secure violet the position…i can’t imagine that’s the last of the dynamic we see her with mother. and the three of them. i could even see him proposing to amelia at some point, and her having the internal conflict of this being one of the only opportunities she’ll ever be afforded to rescue her mother from poverty vs. it not being something she wants for herself vs. how selfless amelia is by nature.
• lady isabella’s secret…given that it’s lydia quigley that is its keeper, i think it narrows down some possibilities. most likely it’s something to do with sex work. lydia has never had a man in her employ that we know of (besides her messenger). given all the sapphic vibes, and the risk to her reputation if she ever pursued something with another female member of the elite, perhaps isabella paid for services in the past. 
• if it’s not that, and charlotte ends up being isabella’s exception to an otherwise hetero lifestyle… secret baby out of wedlock? the secret baby plot is very de rigeur in period dramas.
• less interesting, but possible: your typical romance novel crimes like jewel thievery and/or some light murder to acquire such jewels…lydia helped hide the body, and/or left a known possession of a customer that was pissing her off on the body to frame them and take the heat off isabella, hoping to use it as leverage in the future. 
• this one’s wishful thinking, but i’d love if it daniel marney showed up like ‘what’d i miss’ even if it’s just in the finale?? like i would want it to be in the LEAST expected moment. 
• lord fallon pretending he didn’t know what kitty looked like; i think lucy saw through?? it was pretty transparent and i think she maybe recognized the piece found on fanny as his. i hope she murders him. lucy the white-wig-ripper…
