goodqueenejess said: @alicehoffmans do you think either of the Holbein sketches are actually Anne? And what about the Nidd Hall portrait and the Most Happy medal? I read somewhere that they’re supposed to be the most accurate depiction of her we have, next to the Chequers ring. Or do you think her appearance was a combination of certain portraits?

On nothing other than instinct, I think this Holbein sketch is her:

The contemporary description of ‘long neck’ leads me to believe it is her.

Also looks a bit like this potential one of her, right??

The Most Happy medal I don’t really know much about…I assume it is actually a depiction of her, but it’s hard to get a good likeness in stone also?

Nidd Hall portrait looks like some paintings of older Elizabeth I to me, so I think it’s probably a portrait done based on Elizabeth’s meant to be representing Anne if anything– but probably not a very accurate one, as for representing what she actually looked like.

I would really, really, REALLY love to see that potential one clarified/isolated more. I know absolutely nothing about art preservation or if that’s even possible but I would love to see a clearer look at the previous sitter’s face. I personally am not a fan of the Nidd Hall portrait myself, so a part of me just doesn’t want it to be her. I also favor that Holbien myself over the dressing robe one. And, if you were to look at the Moost Happy medal, I think it’s similar to what she’s wearing. Thank you for your reply!!❤️❤️❤️

Yw! I would love to see it too, don’t know if it’s possible tho…it really does look a lot like two of her potential ones, tho!

Esp. the one on the right, imo.

As with most AB topics, there’s an AB Files article that has a breakdown of all the portraits, too.
